Avocado and Chickpea Toast

Creamy avocado and spicy chickpea mash on toasted whole-grain bread.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup canned chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 slices of your favorite whole-grain bread

Instructions
 

  • Mash avocado and chickpeas together.
  • Season with chili flakes and spread on toasted bread.
  • Serve with pomegranate on top of it. (optional)

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the level of spiciness by adjusting the amount of chili flakes.
  • While we've added pomegranate for a sweet-tart twist, you can experiment with other toppings like sliced tomatoes, a drizzle of balsamic glaze, or even a sprinkle of nutritional yeast.
  • This toast pairs wonderfully with a side of fresh fruit, a green smoothie, or a hot cup of your favorite plant-based coffee or tea. Enjoy!
